At first glance, such a banal heading may get you wondering if I have truly gone “off the rails”, after all a box is a box, no? Maybe or maybe not. I for one lusted after boxes as much ( if not more than ) what they contained, many centuries ago when I had no grey hair and was a young lad.
Apart from the interesting social commentary ( check out the flares and polo - necks in some of the photo’s! ) I’d go with the conspiracy theory: I wouldn’t be surprised if teams of nerds in white coats measured the brainwaves of kids when presented with certain packaging.
Okay, maybe that is a bit paranoid, but more seriously, the time, effort and creativity that went into so much of Computer packaging represents a sort of pinnacle of Art - or perhaps ‘Pop Art’ - in it’s own right. I decided therefore to give these endeavours a little space. Enjoy!
